Uniqlo and Gold’s Gym have installed signage in preparation for their anticipated openings.
The Uniqlo store at 914 Ellsworth Dr. in Downtown Silver Spring will open this summer instead of in the fall as originally planned. A number of positions were posted in July for the upcoming store, including Retail Supervisor in Training, Visual Merchandising Associate, Full-Time and Part-Time Retail Sales Associates, and Retail Alterations Specialist. Candidates interested in applying can visit the company’s website.
It will be Uniqlo’s fifth area store, joining Tysons, Fair Lakes, North Bethesda, and Union Station.
The space was formerly home to retailer Ulta Beauty, which relocated in 2020 to 8510 Fenton St. in the same development. XOA Lifestyle also occupied the space for a short time before closing in November 2021.
Meanwhile, “coming soon” signage has been installed at Gold’s Gym, which will take over the nearly 25,000 square feet that Washington Sports Clubs vacated in the fall of 2020 at 901 Wayne Ave. Fitness enthusiasts can register their interest in becoming Founding Members by scanning the QR code on the location’s signage.

440,000-square-foot Downtown Silver Spring underwent a $10 million renovation in 2020. Co-developed and co-owned by Peterson Companies and Foulger-Pratt, the property is managed and leased by Peterson.
