D.C. Man Charged with Attempted First-Degree Murder

Montgomery County Police have arrested and charged 37-year-old Anthony L. Green of Washington, D.C. with attempted first-degree murder and other related charges for a shooting he allegedly committed in downtown Silver Spring on July 15.

At approximately 1:54 p.m. on Saturday, July 15, an adult male victim walked into the fire station in the 8100 block of Georgia Ave. with apparent gunshot wounds to his torso. His injuries were life-threatening and he was transported to an area hospital, according to an MCPD press release

Investigators from the county’s 3rd District Investigative Section determined that the suspect had been arguing with an individual in the 8100 block of Georgia Ave. when the victim intervened. Green reportedly shot the victim twice during the argument.

During the investigation, detectives identified Green as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant on July 25.

The arrest of Green took place on July 31 and he is currently being held in Washington, D.C. for an unrelated offense, MCPD said.
