Montgomery County Police say that 38-year-old Daniyom Tesfaye has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of a custodian at the Silver Spring Metro station Wednesday evening.
Police officers from Metro Transit Police and Montgomery County Police responded to the metro station around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday following reports of a stabbing.
As officers arrived, they learned the victim was seriously injured from being stabbed in the arm. The victim, identified as a Metro contractor who works as a custodian, was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Officers later arrested a person matching the stabbing suspect’s description and identified him as Tesfaye, who was charged with first-degree assault, MCPD said.
