‘Armed and Dangerous’ Homicide Suspect Sought by Police

33-year-old Markus Tyrelle Dowdy is being sought by Montgomery County Police in connection with a shooting in White Oak that left one man dead and another injured.

According to MCPD, 3rd District officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to the America’s Best Wings restaurant in the 11200 block of New Hampshire Ave. at approximately 5:51 p.m. on November 4. When officers arrived, they found two adult male victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

34-year-old Marvin Jefferson of Silver Spring was found outside the restaurant, and the second victim was found nearby. Both individuals were taken to a hospital, where Jefferson was later pronounced dead. The second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently discharged from the hospital, MCPD said.

The investigation revealed that the shooting occurred following an altercation inside the restaurant involving Jefferson, the second victim, and Dowdy. Following the shooting, Dowdy fled from the scene.

Dowdy is described as five feet, nine inches tall, weighing 200 pounds, with brown hair and tattoos on the right side of his cheek and neck. MCPD considers Dowdy to be armed and dangerous.
