The county’s Department of Transportation will hold an in-person public meeting next week to present plans for the Carroll Ave. Separated Bike Lanes project.
The proposed design includes separated bike lanes on each side of Carroll Ave. from Merrimac Drive to University Blvd., as well as a two-way cycle track on the east side of the street from University Blvd. to Piney Branch Rd. (MD 320) in the Takoma/Langley Crossroads area.
MCDOT said that the project, which is at 35 percent completion in the design stage, will include enhancements for pedestrian safety and accessibility, as well as potential traffic calming measures.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, at New Hampshire Estates Elementary School, located at 8720 Carroll Ave. in Silver Spring. The proposal files will be available for review on the project website by 5 p.m. on the meeting day.
