Sip & Develop announced on Instagram Wednesday evening that it will close its Downtown Silver Spring location on Jan. 28.
The news coincides with the social photography studio’s upcoming launch of a new location at National Harbor on Feb. 2.
Sip & Develop, which opened its first location at 8501 Fenton St. in Downtown Silver Spring in 2022 and gained popularity on TikTok, offers a social space where they serve beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks. Additionally, the establishment provides darkrooms for developing photographic film.
Last year, Sheen Magazine reported that Sip & Develop was set to open at 136 Waterfront Street, taking over the space previously occupied by Zen Yoga, which had relocated to Old Town Alexandria. Sip & Develop was honored with the Editor’s Choice award in the Arts & Culture category for “Best New Places to See and Make Art” in Best of Bethesda 2023.
Peterson Companies, who manage the Downtown Silver Spring and National Harbor developments, have not yet announced a replacement tenant. The Source will provide updates as more information becomes available.
