Transition Complete: New Owner Takes the Reins at Fresh Start Massage & Bodywork

Fresh Start Massage & Bodywork has named Lawrence Lewis, LMT, MMT as Owner, Operator & CEO.

Lewis, a graduate of the Baltimore School of Massage, is licensed in Maryland and holds certifications in Sports Massage, Medical Massage, and Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage (2024). Transitioning from a home-based service to a physical massage studio, Lewis now manages the three-room facility in downtown Silver Spring.

Expressing his passion for massage therapy, Lewis shared, “I was always good with my hands and I am a people person. I went to school for massage therapy and found a great way to combine those skills. It has turned out to be my passion. I love what I do!”

According to a press release, Fresh Start currently employs three licensed massage therapists with diverse skill sets, offering Swedish, sports, lymphatic drainage, and other therapeutic massage services. Lewis emphasized the studio’s commitment to supporting clients’ recovery and wellness goals, stating, “As health care professionals, we work with clients to help them heal from injuries or illnesses so that they may live productive lives.”

With a mission to enhance the well-being of the community, Fresh Start Massage & Bodywork aims to promote internal and external wellness. General manager Jeannine Ervin-White, RN, highlighted the benefits of their services, including improved sleep, reduced stress, and pain relief. She emphasized, “It’s not just a massage; it’s a Fresh Start is our motto and it’s the way we do business, our clients experience lasting health benefits in just one hour.”

Founded in 2021, Fresh Start Massage & Bodywork is located in the Silver Spring Gateway (M&T Bank) building at 8730 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring.
