Discover Diverse Delights at the Downtown Silver Spring ‘Around the World Bazaar’

Eight performances with an international flair will be part of the free “Around the World Bazaar” this Friday evening from 5 to 10 p.m.

The free event, hosted by Silver Spring Town Center, Inc. at the Silver Spring Civic Building in downtown Silver Spring, will feature a variety of entertainment, including a Bollywood Wedding Dance, Latin and Brazilian Carnival Dance Party, and Orfeia, a women’s vocal ensemble dedicated to preserving and sharing traditional music from Bulgaria and Eastern Europe.

Attendees are encouraged to join the International Potluck dinner from 6 to 8 p.m. Guests should bring a dish to share and experience a culinary journey around the globe.

Orfeia will take the stage from 6 to 7 p.m., presenting a repertoire that reflects the musical traditions of Eastern Europe, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Russia, and neighboring regions. Based in Montgomery County, Orfeia has captivated audiences across the Mid-Atlantic Region.

The SAPAN Institute will lead a festive class of Bollywood-style wedding dance from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, the Latin & Brazilian Carnival Dance Party in the Civic Building’s Great Hall from 8 to 10 p.m. will be a highlight of the evening, featuring music by DJ Bachata Larry and Sambista Katie Kirkpatrick. The celebration will showcase Salsa, Bachata, and Samba dances.

The event is free, but registration at Eventbrite is required.
