Celebrate Love: Best Valentine’s Day Specials at Local Eateries

Several restaurants in Silver Spring will have special Valentine’s Day meals available next week.

All Set Restaurant & Bar in downtown Silver Spring is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a special Bella Notte Valentine’s Day 3-course prix fixe menu priced at $70. This offer is available on Monday, February 12th, Tuesday, February 13th, and Valentine’s Day itself, Wednesday, February 14th. Guests can enjoy a charcuterie board upon arrival, followed by their choice of appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Half-price wines by the bottle are available starting at 5 p.m.

The first course options include fresh Oysters Rockefeller with creamed spinach, bacon, and herb crumb, or Mushroom Arancini stuffed with porcini, shiitake, cremini, parmesan, arborio rice, and roasted bell pepper bechamel. For the main course, diners can choose between Linguine & Meatballs made with Wagyu beef, veal, parmesan, marinara, and garlic bread, or the Whole Fried Snapper Piccata served on yellow rice pilaf with lemon, white wine, and capers.

To conclude the meal, guests can savor an array of Whoopie Pies (vanilla with strawberry, chocolate with peanut butter, and red velvet with vanilla) or indulge in the decadent Black Forest Tiramisu topped with dark cherries, espresso ladyfingers, mascarpone, and dark chocolate.

The Daily Dish presents Anti-Valentine’s Day specials with creatively named food and drinks available exclusively at the bar from 3 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, February 13, and Wednesday, February 14. Featured entrees include Boycotting Today – just for the Halibut (pistachio-crusted halibut for $32), Not-Your-Fairytale Pumpkin (local beet and fairytale pumpkin crostata for $22), and Lamb o-so-solo buco (lamb osso buco for $38). Snack options, known as “love bites,” consist of $8 garlic knots named Untie the Knot, Bean…Bean…the Magical Fruit (9-bean chili for $9), and a $12 bacon-wrapped scallop called Block the ex.

J. Hollinger’s is hosting an all-you-can-eat brunch for $35 on Saturday, February 17. The fixed-price menu features a variety of dishes including Hot Honey Fried Chicken, Slow-Roasted Ribeye with Fresh Herbs and Garlic, Old Bay Peel and Eat Shrimp, Crab Deviled Eggs, Brioche French Toast with Local Berry Compote, Fresh Biscuits, and more.

Matchbox is offering a special $54 3-course meal from Wednesday, February 14, to Sunday, February 18. The meal includes crispy calamari, arancini, simple salad or apple and pear salad as starters; lump crab cakes, shrimp linguini, or crispy half chicken as entrees; and a classic brownie, chocolate chip bread pudding, or NY-style cheesecake for dessert.

Additionally, Downtown Silver Spring has a giveaway where the winner will receive two Regal Cinemas tickets and a $100 Matchbox gift card.

Further away from Silver Spring, Medium Rare in Bethesda is currently offering a special promotion for couples who get engaged at the restaurant on Valentine’s Day. Owner Mark Bucher, who is currently hosting a fundraiser in Las Vegas for GENYOUth’s End Student Hunger Fund, announced that any couple who gets engaged at the restaurant will receive free anniversary meals for life.

The steakhouse features a prix fixe dinner menu priced at $28.95, which includes rustic bread, a mixed green salad, culotte steak with hand-cut fries and secret sauce. The dessert menu offers options like Grandma’s Apple Pie, Hot Fudge Sundae, Chocolate Layer Cake, Carrot Cake, and Key Lime Pie. Additionally, the drink menu includes four signature cocktails, a seasonal cocktail, and a variety of wines and beers.

Guests can make a reservation online or walk in on Valentine’s Day, as Medium Rare ensures the availability of a few tables for such occasions.
