Montgomery County Police are currently investigating an armed robbery and shooting incident that occurred at the Society Restaurant & Lounge early Saturday morning.
According to MCPD spokesperson Casandra Tressler, officers were called to the Society Restaurant & Lounge on Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring around 3 a.m. Saturday following a report of an armed robbery. Initial investigations indicate that four suspects, two of whom were armed, approached an adult male victim and demanded his belongings.
During the robbery, another group of unidentified suspects arrived at the scene and began shooting towards the initial suspects.
No injuries have been reported, and all suspects fled the scene before officers arrived, Tressler said.
