Downtown Silver Spring’s Caribbean quick-service restaurant, The Angry Jerk, is expanding to Dupont Circle.
According to PoPville, the restaurant will be taking over the space previously occupied by HipCityVeg at 1300 Connecticut Ave. NW. The opening date for The Angry Jerk’s third location has not been announced yet.
Owner Jason Miskiri opened The Angry Jerk’s first location in 2021 at 8223 Georgia Ave. in downtown Silver Spring. The restaurant has since leased a 2,200-square-foot space at the Juniper apartment complex, situated near the Merriweather Post Pavilion at 6000 Merriweather Drive in Columbia. The expansion to Columbia will see The Angry Jerk join a lineup of upcoming restaurants in the area, including Eggspectation, Gyusan, Kyo Matcha, and Jrip Coffee & Croissanterie.
Miskiri also operates other downtown Silver Spring establishments like The Breakfast Club, which opened in late 2022 at 8240 Fenton St., and Society Restaurant & Lounge, which he opened in 2012 at 8229 Georgia Ave. and co-owns with his sister, Samantha Khamis-el-Miskiri.
