Montgomery Parks will host its first-ever Sligo Creek Fest on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The festival will be held on Sligo Creek Parkway, spanning from Dennis Ave. to University Boulevard in Silver Spring. Attendees can look forward to free live music, kids’ entertainment, activities, and a variety of food and beverages available for purchase from food trucks.
The event will feature live performances by Uncle Jesse and Capital Effect, as well as kids’ entertainment by Marsha and the Positrons and Groovy Nate. Additionally, there will be roving street entertainers, games from Wonderfly Games, and refreshments from vendors like Clayboys Shaved Ice and Catalyst Hot Dogs.
Other upcoming events in the first half of Summer 2024 include Archaeology Day on May 4 at Needwood Mansion, With Parks in Mind on May 5 at Germantown Town Center Urban Park, Roller Disco on May 17 at Ridge Road Recreational Park, WaterFest on May 18 at Maydale Nature Classroom, Acoustics & Ales on May 23 at Flower Avenue Urban Park, Pride in the Park: A Comedy Show on June 6 at Brookside Gardens, Parks Playhouse Junior starting on June 10 at various locations, and MudFest on June 15 at Woodstock Equestrian Park.
