Unleash Creativity and Sportsmanship: Arts, Crafts, and Multi-Sports Programs for Spring Break

Montgomery County Recreation presents a variety of engaging activities, sports, and games for youth and teens at multiple recreation centers throughout the county during spring break, scheduled for the week of March 25 – 29.

Among the experiences available are spring break camps that offer a preview of what is to come in the summer, featuring programs such as Coach Doug, Jump Start Sports Camp, Train Like a Pro Multi-Sport Camps, Coach Parker Basketball Academy, and Magic Spring Break Camp.

Camp registrations can be completed online.

“There is a variety of fun programming offered by Montgomery County Recreation that provides a safe, out of school opportunity for our youth,” Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich said in a press release. “I encourage families to sign their children up, and to get a sneak preview of all the great offerings that are coming with camps this summer.”

Additionally, Montgomery County Recreation introduces the inaugural Goats on Wheels Skateboarding Spring Break Camp, offering participants the opportunity to learn skating fundamentals for a nominal fee of $25. Limited equipment will be provided by the Recreation Department, though participants are encouraged to bring their own gear.

Boys and girls aged 11-18 can engage in the Spring Break Basketball program at White Oak Community Recreation Center on Tuesday, March 26, and Wednesday, March 27. For additional information and registration for this free program, interested individuals should contact their local community recreation center.

County residents are invited to apply for Rec Assist, the department’s financial aid program, designed to support individuals who meet the program’s criteria by offsetting program costs. The funding allocated for Rec Assist in 2024 has been raised to $400 per eligible applicant.

The free Rec Fit pass program has returned for 2024, following the issuance of over 100,000 free fitness passes to county residents last year.
