Countdown Begins as Punta Cana Tropical Grill’s Signage Goes Up

The MoCo Show reports that exterior signage has been installed at the upcoming Punta Cana Tropical Grill location in Montgomery Hills.

According to a post on the restaurant’s Instagram account, the signage was put up in February.

Last December, we shared that Punta Cana Tropical Grill would be taking over the space previously occupied by Tropics Ice Cream & Jerk at 9324 Georgia Ave., which closed in October. Located next to the recently-opened Milk & Honey, the space was offered for a 5-year lease through SCS Realty Advisors, represented by agent Jonathan Weiss.

“As soon as I saw the post about it closing, I went for it! It’s a busy road, and I know people will stop here to try it out,” the restaurant’s owner told The MoCo Show in December. “Silver Spring has a unique, diverse community with an appetite for Dominican dishes. I understand how hard it is to stop for food and get good food, so I came up with the idea to open a fast-food Dominican carryout.”

Punta Cana Tropical Grill is slated to open in spring 2024, but the exact opening date has yet to be determined. The Source will share more information as it becomes available.
