Construction is set to begin soon on Nash & Smash, a restaurant at the Woodmoor Shopping Center that will offer Nashville hot chicken sandwiches, smash burgers, and fried chicken.
Last December, we reported that the Aldie, Va.-based chain secured a lease for space #10 at 10121 Colesville Rd., previously occupied by Subway and situated between Bento Express and Woodmoor Cleaners. Earlier this month, the county’s Department of Permitting Services issued commercial building permits for the site.
According to the local chain’s Instagram account, Nash & Smash currently has locations in Manassas, Herndon, and Ashburn in Virginia, as well as Laurel and Ellicott City in Maryland, which are partnered with Peri Peri Original and Kallisto Steakhouse. Silver Spring and Richmond, Va., are set to open in the coming months.
Nash & Smash had been actively searching for locations to establish its first restaurants in the area over the past year, according to the McLean, Virginia-based commercial real estate company Rappaport:
Nash & Smash keeps the menu simple: Nashville-style fried chicken sandwiches and smash-burgers along with creative sides and drinks. What makes this concept extra special is the use of locally sourced, high-quality ingredients, making Nash & Smash a true farm-to-table dining experience.
An official opening date has yet to be announced. The Source will update the progress and opening timeline as more information is available.
