Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying suspects in an armed robbery on March 19 at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Wheaton.
According to an MCPD press release, two individuals entered the 7-Eleven store in the 11400 block on Georgia Avenue at around 12:08 a.m. One of the suspects approached an employee while pointing a handgun at them and demanded money from the cash registers. Meanwhile, the other suspect stood by the side door, keeping watch. Once the employee opened the registers, the armed suspect took out the cash drawers. The amount of money taken is currently unknown. The armed suspect handed one of the drawers to his accomplice, and both suspects quickly fled the scene.
The first suspect is described as a Black male in his early twenties, approximately 5’6″ tall with a thicker build. He was wearing all-black clothing, gloves, a ski mask, sunglasses, and gray New Balance shoes. The second suspect is also a Black male in his early twenties, around 5’10” tall with a heavier build. He was wearing a black Nike sweatshirt, Nike sweatpants, black Nike shoes, and a blue surgical mask.
Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police at (301) 279-8000 or provide anonymous tips to Crime Solvers of Montgomery County by calling toll-free at (866) 411-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip online, or through the P3 Tips app. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information that leads to the suspects’ arrest.
