Silver Spring Man Killed in Randolph Road Hit-and-Run Crash

Montgomery County Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash involving a pedestrian near the intersection of Randolph Road and Kimblewick Drive on Friday night.

Around 10:12 pm Friday, officers from the 3rd District and Montgomery County Fire & Rescue crews responded to reports of a collision between two vehicles and a pedestrian.

According to a press release, the investigation revealed that a white 2023 Honda Odyssey was traveling westbound on Randolph Road when it unexpectedly mounted the curb, striking an adult male pedestrian and causing him to fall onto the roadway. Subsequently, a white 4-door Acura struck the pedestrian, and the driver fled the scene without rendering aid.

The pedestrian, identified as 52-year-old Ronaldo Franzese of Silver Spring, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police described the Acura as a white 2009-2012 Acura TL, potentially missing a fender line and exhibiting front-end damage near the ground. Witnesses reported the Acura driver heading north on New Hampshire Avenue and west on Randolph Road.
