Lime & Cilantro is set to open at 1909 Seminary Rd. in Montgomery Hills, replacing Crown Fried Chicken (previously Krazy Steve’s Comfort Cuisine and Armand’s Chicago Pizzeria).
According to the restaurant’s Instagram account, Lime & Cilantro is billed as a modern take on classic Latin fare: “We are an unpretentious, modern Latin-focused restaurant opening in Silver Spring, MD. Our goal is to deliver our heart and Soul to your plate with some damn delicious food that’s as beautiful as it is tasty. Led by Washington Post mentioned executive chef Danny Chavez, and FOH director Fathi Sarsouri, Lime & Cilantro aims to be a DMV destination for delicious, Latin cuisine.”
Chavez previously worked as executive chef at Art and Soul in Capitol Hill, where he started as a line cook, and Michelin-starred Plume (now The Greenhouse). Art Smith, who previously served as Oprah Winfrey’s personal chef, originally opened Art and Soul in 2007.
Chavez said in an Instagram message that he plans to open in the first week of May, starting with a preview for friends and family before opening to the public.
