Suspect Sought in Silver Spring Attempted Sexual Assault Case

Montgomery County Police are urging residents to provide any information that could help identify a suspect who attempted to sexually assault a Silver Spring woman.

According to an MCPD press release, the incident occurred around 7:55 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23, when the female victim entered her home in the 9200 block of Second Ave. in the North Woodside neighborhood. As she was entering, the male suspect confronted her, forcibly entered her residence, and began physically assaulting her. The suspect attempted to sexually assault the victim, but she resisted, prompting the assailant to flee the scene.

3rd District officers responded to the address and initiated a search for the suspect, who is described as a Black male between 5 feet, 10 inches and 5 feet, 11 inches tall, approximately 20 years old, with a thin build, and wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Detectives from the Special Victims Investigations Division seek help from neighbors who may have captured footage of the suspect on their home security cameras. Residents with relevant information are urged to contact SVID at (240) 773-5050.
