Two 20-year-old men were fatally shot Sunday evening near Nolte Local Park in Silver Spring, according to Montgomery County Police.
Officers arrived at the scene in the 500 block of Thayer Ave. just before 7 p.m. and discovered two men with gunshot wounds. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

MCPD released the following statement Sunday night:
At approximately 6:57 p.m. Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District and Maryland – National Capital Park Police officers responded to the 500 block of Thayer Ave. for the report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located two 20-year-old males dead at the scene.
There are no suspects in custody at this time.
This is an active and ongoing investigation.
A news release will be distributed once more information becomes available, along with the names of the deceased.
