The Daily Dish is celebrating its 15th anniversary in Silver Spring this month by offering weekly specials highlighting the best items from its menu over the years, along with some unexpected treats.
The celebration starts today, Monday, June 3, with an all-night happy hour offering $1 oysters on the half shell. Throughout the week, guests can enjoy food and drink specials during happy hour, available throughout the restaurant and on the patio starting at 3 p.m.
Every Monday, The Daily Dish will update its website with the week’s anniversary specials.
“We recognize that staying open for 15 years is not something afforded to everyone, and we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support,” said owner Jerry Hollinger, who also opened The Dish & Dram in Kensington in 2016 and J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse in downtown Silver Spring in 2022.
“The whole team at The Daily Dish wants to express our gratitude to the community and all our guests, who feel more like family to us, for their unwavering support,” Hollinger continued.
Recognizing that trends evolve, The Daily Dish has recently undergone renovations to refresh its look while maintaining its core essence, including a revamped menu and branding to enhance the dining experience. The redesigned space, characterized by a modern but cozy ambiance, features vibrant artwork by local artists, large windows, and a garage door opening to the sidewalk patio.
Additionally, the restaurant has been updated to seat 68 people indoors (12 at the full bar, eight at the new floating bar, and 48 at tables) and 34 on the outdoor patio.
Among the contemporary artwork, the restaurant pays tribute to the owner’s history with a framed black-and-white photo of the family business Hollinger’s Farm Market in Ephrata, Pa. The 1964 photo is an homage to Jerry’s roots and the tradition of enjoying meals made with locally sourced, high-quality ingredients.
Hollinger continues the legacy by personally selecting produce each week from farms across Maryland and Pennsylvania to bring back fresh, seasonal ingredients for his three restaurants.
The restaurant has received acclaim from critics and guests over the years, winning RAMMY Awards for Favorite Gathering Place in 2018, Everyday Casual Brunch in 2015, and a finalist for Casual Restaurant of the Year in 2017. Bethesda Magazine referred to them as “The Restaurant Dream Team.”
The Daily Dish is located at 8301 Grubb Rd. and is open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and daily happy hour.
