Bump ‘n Grind Reaches Fundraising Goal for Downtown Silver Spring Community Hub

Bump ‘n Grind has reached its maximum investment campaign goal to finance the planned renovation of its permanent home in downtown Silver Spring.

The campaign, which ended last week, raised $65,000.

The Analog Market at 923 Gist Ave. will be transformed into what owner David Fogel calls a “one-of-a-kind third space,” including a full-service coffee bar, complete kitchen, bar, and outdoor stage. Loyalty Books, which moved into the Analog Market last February, will continue to operate on the upper floor.

Fogel, who purchased the building last year after hosting a series of successful weekend pop-up events, told the Source in May that the aim is to create a community hub operating from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m.

“I really do love [Silver Spring] and believe in it on so many different levels. I’m just thrilled to be a part of it,” Fogel said. “I can’t wait to have this place open and welcome everybody here in its next iteration.”
