Police Seek Three Suspects for Attempted Auto Theft at Downtown Silver Spring Garage

Montgomery County Police are asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects who attempted to steal a vehicle at the Kennett Street Garage in downtown Silver Spring earlier this month.

According to an MCPD press release, the suspects tried to steal a vehicle parked in the garage at 8040 Kennett Street on Saturday, June 1st and left the scene after a security guard intervened.

The suspects are described as follows:

  • A Black male in his late teens, wearing a black surgical mask, a black Nike shirt, gray sweatpants, and carrying a blue backpack;
  • A Black male in his late teens, wearing glasses, a black surgical mask, a blue hoodie, black pants, and carrying a black backpack; and
  • A Hispanic male in his late teens, wearing a red hoodie, a black ski mask, black pants, and carrying a black backpack.

Police ask anyone with information to contact the Crime Solvers of Montgomery County at crimesolversmcmd.org or (866) 411-8477. All tips can be provided anonymously, and information that leads to an arrest may qualify for a reward of up to $10,000.
