New Neon Signage Installed at Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet in Downtown Silver Spring

New neon signage is up at the upcoming Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet location in downtown Silver Spring.

We reported earlier this month that the dessert shop would open in the former Smoothie King space at 8563 Fenton St., which was originally thought to be a new TCBY location due to the brief appearance of their signage.

Smoothie King closed in 2022 following eviction filings stating the tenants had not paid rent from October 2021 to March 2022, totaling $23,500.

According to the shop’s Instagram profile, Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet will have “something for everyone,” offering ice cream, cakes, pies, coffee, and more. Although a specific opening date has not been announced, management confirmed to the Source that they will offer soft-serve ice cream.

Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet will add to downtown Silver Spring’s dessert scene, joining custom gelato shop Fantasticks, which will open in the former Starbucks space at 915 Ellsworth Drive.
