El Jefe Wood Fired Pizza Debuts at Solaire Social Food Hall Today

Local food truck El Jefe Wood Fired Pizza is making its brick-and-mortar debut today at the Solaire Social food hall in downtown Silver Spring.

The upcounty brewery and farmers market favorite started operating last year and has now secured a permanent location in the food hall’s final available space next to Fire Pit Brazilian BBQ

Fire Pit, recently featured in the WETA TV series Signature Dish, started as a food truck at the Golden Arcade shopping center in Rockville.

“[Chef] Akhtar Nawab, who is curating the vendors for Solaire Social, has really made an effort to seek out popular MoCo food trucks and provide them with space,” a Solaire Social representative told the Source Monday evening.

Pizza prices range from $13 for the Don Queso with fresh and shredded mozzarella cheese to $17 for the Birria and Arugula Prosciutto pie; the Sir Vegan pizza, which includes vegan cheese, pepperoni, spinach, and pesto, is also available for $17.

Solaire Social is located on the ground floor of the Solaire 8200 Dixon apartment building in downtown Silver Spring. The food hall is open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Parking is available at the Bonifant-Dixon Garage.
