Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet, a new ice cream and dessert shop coming to downtown Silver Spring, announced on Instagram Thursday evening that it will open on Saturday, July 27.
We reported last month that the sweets shop would open in the previous Smoothie King space at 8563 Fenton St., which was initially mistaken for a new TCBY location due to the brief appearance of their signage.
Smoothie King closed in 2022 following eviction filings stating the tenants had not paid rent from October 2021 to March 2022, totaling $23,500.
According to the shop’s Instagram profile, Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet will have “something for everyone,” offering ice cream, cakes, pies, coffee, and more. Through July 31, customers who spend $10 or more will receive a complimentary kiddie scoop of ice cream.
Lil’ Sumthin’ Sweet joins downtown Silver Spring dessert shops Sweeteria, which opened in 2020; Morning My Day, which opened last November; and Fantasticks, which opened earlier this month.
