Silver Spring’s Zinnia Honored with Beer Program of the Year RAMMY Award

Zinnia in Silver Spring won the RAMMY award for Beer Program of the Year at the 42nd Annual RAMMY Awards Gala, which took place on Sunday evening at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in D.C.

Since its opening in 2021, Zinnia has received several accolades, including being named the top editor’s pick for the best breakfast sandwich in this year’s Best of Bethesda issue and the best tavern garden by Washingtonian Magazine.

Roaming Rooster, which has multiple locations in the area and will open in Downtown Silver Spring later this year, was nominated for the Hottest Sandwich Spot award but ultimately lost to Colada Shop.

Quarry House Tavern won the Beer Program of the Year award in 2022.

For the 2024 awards, any Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington member in good standing who met all category eligibility requirements was eligible to be nominated in the restaurant, individual award, and publicly voted categories, according to a RAMW press release. All finalists and winners were chosen by an anonymous panel of judges, except for the winners of the five publicly-voted categories, which were decided by public vote earlier this year.

Peers nominated the finalists for the Joan Hisaoka Allied Member of the Year category, and RAMW’s Executive Committee selected the winner.
