Four Silver Spring restaurants — All Set Restaurant & Bar, J. Hollinger’s Waterman’s Chophouse, Matchbox, and The Daily Dish — are participating in Summer Restaurant Week, sponsored by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington.
The annual promotion is scheduled from Monday, August 12, through Sunday, August 18, and provides an excellent opportunity to dine at a popular restaurant, especially for lunch or brunch, where one can find the best deals.
Over 300 restaurants across the region will participate, offering multi-course lunch and brunch menus at $25 or $35 per person and dinner menus at $40, $55, or $65.

The menu includes a choice of appetizers: smoked fish dip, tomato gazpacho, or fried oyster mushrooms. For the main course, options include steak frites, pappardelle bolognese, summer risotto, or Caribbean lobster. There’s a summer shortcake, Junior’s cheesecake, or a sorbet duo for dessert.

“Dishes will be served in full-size portions to ensure that you enjoy the complete dining experience,” a representative for J. Hollinger’s said via email. “Menu upgrades will be available for those seeking alternative options beyond our already expansive prix-fixe menu offering.”
Matchbox at 919 Ellsworth Drive, which recently updated its menu with fresh, value-driven options, will offer $25 lunch and $40 dinner options for Restaurant Week.
Finally, The Daily Dish at 8301 Grubb Rd. will offer $25 lunch and brunch menus and a $40 dinner menu. The restaurant also recently introduced two new weekly specials: Burger & Beer Mondays and Wine Wednesdays.
Making reservations in advance at popular restaurants is advisable since they tend to fill up quickly. Additionally, restaurants may experience a surge in business during restaurant week, so diners should expect a wait if they plan to dine out during the event.
Diners can visit the Restaurant Week website at rwdmv.com to view participating restaurant menus and make reservations.
