Zero-Waste Refill Station Debuts at The Pearl in Downtown Silver Spring

Residents of The Pearl in downtown Silver Spring now have access to household products in a zero-waste, sustainable way without leaving the building, thanks to a new on-site dispensing station installed by building owner The Tower Companies.

The Good Filling dispensing station offers laundry detergent, dish soap, hand soap, and multi-purpose spray in a zero-waste format. Residents can bring their containers and purchase only the needed amount.

Wheaton-based From Here to Home Essentials was selected as the local partner to ensure that the Good Filling station, already successful in other metropolitan areas such as Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Knoxville, is consistently stocked and maintained.

“Our launch in the D.C. metropolitan area, the first of its kind for residential living in the DMV, is a major milestone in our expansion efforts,” said Petros Palandjian, Founder of Good Filling. “We’re thrilled to bring our zero-waste solution to The Pearl, a community known as a leader in sustainable living. Partnering with From Here to Home Essentials will help build access to zero-waste living in an affordable and convenient way.”

“From Here to Home Essentials is working to make plastic a thing of the past by offering low-waste and plastic-free home and personal care essentials,” owner Lindsey Turnbull said. “Part of our mission includes making refill accessible and affordable to all through partnerships with companies like Good Filling and Tower.”
