Downtown Silver Spring Dunkin’ Update: Construction Progress Explained

Construction at the second Dunkin’ location in downtown Silver Spring is set to continue despite appearing to be stalled.

Reader Paul G. informed the Source last week that Dunkin’s signage and ongoing construction work appeared to have been removed from the Central apartment complex at 8455 Fenton St

Construction at the site, performed by Springfield, Va.-based ADI Construction, began in May.

A representative for Silver Spring-based Dunkin’ franchisee Luis Group Management said via email this week that Central owner Grosvenor Americas had arranged for preliminary construction before the Dunkin’ buildout, which will start soon.

Luis Group also operates Baskin-Robbins and Jersey Mike’s restaurants in Baltimore and D.C. and the Dunkin’ that opened in Four Corners in 2022.

Dunkin’ is listed as “Coming Soon!” on Luis Group’s website and will occupy one of two remaining storefronts on the ground floor of the Central apartment complex, joining current tenants &Pizza, Central Nail Bar, Pure Barre, Orangetheory Fitness, and El Sapo.

An opening timeline has yet to be announced.

Thanks to reader Paul G. for the tip!
