Exterior Signage Installed as Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill Readies for Downtown Silver Spring Debut

Exterior signage has been installed at Chido’s Tex-Mex Grill as it prepares to open its new location in Downtown Silver Spring.

We reported in August that the Laurel-based restaurant faced delays in opening in the former home of The Eleanor at 931 Ellsworth Drive. Without providing a reason for the delay, their Instagram announcement stated, “We don’t have an opening date yet, but we’re working on it. We’ll keep you all posted.”

The county’s Board of License Commissioners approved the restaurant’s liquor license application in May.

Chido’s opened its first location in 2016 at a former Don Pablo’s restaurant in Laurel and expanded to a second location in Owings Mills in 2018, which closed in 2020.

The Laurel location celebrated its 8th anniversary in June.

Chido’s is one of several tenants set to open in the Downtown Silver Spring development in the coming months, including Gold’s Gym, GoodVets, Roaming Rooster, and the returning Fuddruckers. Specific opening dates have not been announced.
