Montgomery County Police have arrested a second Silver Spring teen in connection to a double homicide over Memorial Day weekend.
16-year-old Adom Bogale Abay has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence or felony for his alleged involvement in the shooting deaths of D’Andre Wint of Lanham and Quincy Johnson of Takoma Park.
Johnson and Wint, both 20 years old, were found shot to death at Nolte Local Park in East Silver Spring on May 26. 15-year-old Onyx Santana Austin was arrested in August at Dulles International Airport for his alleged involvement in the murders.
Abay is in custody at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit for unrelated charges. He has been charged as an adult in connection to the double shooting, police said on Thursday.
GoFundMe campaigns to cover memorial expenses for Wint and Johnson have raised over $30,000 each.
