Exterior Signage Signals Gold’s Gym Arrival in Downtown Silver Spring

Gold’s Gym has installed exterior signage in preparation for its opening in Downtown Silver Spring.

Construction progress has been slow since the Dallas-based fitness chain, which has over twenty locations in the region, announced its plans to open in the former home of Washington Sports Clubs at 901 Wayne Ave. last year.

Washington Sports Clubs closed in 2020 due to its parent company, Town Sports International, filing for bankruptcy.

According to the location’s website, Gold’s Gym features a classic design, a functional turf area, custom Gym80 equipment, a recovery room, cardio equipment, a group exercise studio, saunas, and luxury locker rooms.

Currently, the Downtown Silver Spring gym is scheduled to open this fall. The chain’s Georgetown Park location opened in September, and they recently announced a NoMa Center location opening in early 2025.
