Former Cubano’s Restaurant Space in Downtown Silver Spring Hits Market for $2.75 Million

After over twenty years of operation, the former location of Cubano’s Restaurant in downtown Silver Spring has been put up for sale.

The MoCo Show reported on Friday that the selling price of the 4,632-square-foot building located at 1201 Fidler Lane is $2.75 million. According to the BizBuySell listing from Jim McGinnis of The Restaurant Broker, the building was constructed in 1942 and has a triple-net lease rate of $14,000 per month.

Cubano’s permanently closed earlier this year after being temporarily closed for renovations. The former Silver Spring location’s Instagram profile confirmed the closure.

“Yes, we did [close], but we are now in Bethesda, MD!” a restaurant representative told the Source in July.

The Mendez family opened Cubano’s Authentic Cuban Cuisine and Beyond in downtown Silver Spring in 2001, later expanding to Fort Lauderdale in 2019 and Bethesda in 2020. José Guzman, the restaurant’s chef since the original Silver Spring location opened, now oversees the kitchen in Bethesda and prepares the family’s traditional Cuban recipes.

Additional information about the fully built-out, freestanding restaurant can be found on the BizBuySell website.
