A traffic stop by Montgomery County Police in downtown Silver Spring on Friday evening resulted in the seizure of drugs and a loaded handgun.
Evening patrol officers found a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat and drugs inside the car, according to a post on X (formerly Twitter) by Third District Commander Jason Cokinos.
The adult suspect was safely arrested and booked at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit in Rockville.
“Silver Spring finished 2024 with overall contact and non-contact shootings down about 20% compared to 2023,” Cokinos added. “More work to do, but each gun seized helps.”
