Casseroles for a Cause: A Simple Way to Make a Big Impact in Your Community

Go Brent Realty’s Silver Spring Cares nonprofit has reprised its Casseroles for a Cause campaign, providing free meals to food-insecure residents through partner organizations.

The fifteenth Casseroles for a Cause campaign, which runs through Friday, February 28, will benefit Shepherd’s Table, a downtown Silver Spring nonprofit that celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023 and reached the remarkable milestone of serving two million meals in 2021.

Upon signing up for Casseroles for a Cause, volunteers will get a confirmation email containing instructions, useful tips, and recipe ideas. After making the casseroles, they can schedule a pickup.

Volunteers who live within a 15-minute radius of downtown Silver Spring can qualify for casserole pickups. Those who live farther away may also schedule a pickup if they have a minimum of ten casseroles to donate.

Students looking to volunteer can earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours.
