MHP has successfully exceeded the $20 million fundraising goal for its ambitious Making Home Possible for All campaign, which aims to double the availability of affordable housing by the end of 2030.
Since 1989, the Silver Spring housing nonprofit has focused on preserving and increasing access to high-quality affordable housing, which has resulted in over 2,800 homes in Montgomery County and neighboring areas.
The Making Home Possible for All campaign has raised $21.1 million from nearly 8,000 contributors since its launch in 2021.
“As housing prices rise, escalating demand requires that we act boldly to help more families in need,” MHP President Robert A. Goldman said in a press release. “With your support, in 38 months, we raised $21.1 million. This is unprecedented for MHP,” he said. “While we have accomplished a lot, and served many people, our most crucial work will continue. There are too many people who are being forced to make the most impossible of choices – between paying their rent and paying for other critical expenses such as food, clothing, and medical care.”
