Effoi Restaurant in downtown Silver Spring has reopened under new ownership.
30-year veteran chef Maernet Gebremariam and Nigist Teferi are the new partners in the Ethiopian restaurant, which first opened in the former home of Addis Ababa in 2022 and offers traditional dishes like kitfo, wot, and tibs, plus vegetarian and breakfast options.
The Montgomery County Board of License Commissioners approved the restaurant’s alcohol permit application earlier this month.
