Montgomery County Police will increase their visibility in downtown Silver Spring’s parking garages starting this week.
3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos announced on X (formerly Twitter) Wednesday evening that the patrols are part of a new partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Transportation.
Under this partnership, MCPD officers will assist in MCDOT’s security patrols that monitor the garages.
Police will increase their presence in and around the downtown Silver Spring parking garages to enhance safety and deter car thefts, Cokinos said, who reminds residents to “lock your car doors and don’t leave valuables in open view inside of your car.”
