Cafe Shuga will host The Black Coffee Experience this weekend at the Solaire Social food hall in downtown Silver Spring.
This free 21+ event, which will take place on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature a coffee and cocktail experience with a curated selection of drinks and bites from the team behind Shuga x Ice and a lineup of local DJs playing a mix of Afro-House, Amapiano, Afrobeats, R&B, and more.
According to a press release, the menu will include Espresso Martinis, Puff Puffs (popular African fried dough balls), and Affogatos with a choice of Madagascar Vanilla or spiked Amarula ice cream, made with South African Amarula cream liqueur from Shuga x Ice.
Cafe Shuga’s signature drinks will also be available, including the Vanilla Moringa Latte, often described as “African Matcha,” the Milo Mocha, Honey Sesame Ginger Latte, and Mint Baobab Paloma.
The Black Coffee Experience is free for guests ages 21 and up with valid ID, and RSVPs are encouraged via Eventbrite.
Solaire Social is located on the ground floor of the Solaire 8200 Dixon apartment building at 8200 Dixon Ave. in downtown Silver Spring. Parking is available at the Bonifant-Dixon Garage.
