Police Investigating Armed Robbery Seek Help to Identify Suspect

Montgomery County police are investigating an armed robbery at the T.J. Maxx in Ellsworth Place and is seeking help to identify the suspect, according to a press release.

The department reported that the robbery took place about 1:53 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 in the mall, located at 8661 Colesville Rd.

The suspect approached a cashier, displayed a handgun and threated to kill the cashier.

“The suspect stole cash from one of the registers and placed it in a plastic bag. As the suspect exited the counter area, he pointed the handgun at a security officer who had just arrived to work at the store,” the release said. “The suspect fled the store with the stolen cash and merchandise.”

The department has released surveillance photos of the suspect, and asks that anyone who has information about the robbery or the suspects call the Major Crimes Division at 240.773.5070.
