Santa Claus will visit Silver Spring’s version of the North Pole at A Wider Circle this Saturday, Dec. 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
The North Pole, which opened Dec. 4, is a place where the organization’s clients, including children, can shop and pick out presents for free.
The shop is part of the group’s holiday giving program, which accepts donations of new toys, books, clothes, art supplies, gift cards and more for kids ages 1-18 to keep the center stocked with presents throughout the month.
The North Pole, which also is seeking volunteers, will be open until December 25 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Saturday and Sunday noon-6 pm. Santa will make a second appearance at the center Dec. 16.
Drop-offs of new, unwrapped gifts can be taken throughout the month of December to A Wider Circle’s Center for Community Service, located at 9159 Brookville Rd. Drop-off hours are Mon-Sat. 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday noon-6 p.m.
