Patient First urgent care center will open its new location at 8206 Georgia Ave. on Saturday, Dec. 30.
In a letter to patients, Dr. Ramin Mazhari, medical director for the Silver Spring and Rockville locations, wrote, “There will be no disruption in medical care or change in services for our patients. The Silver Spring staff and your medical record will be located at the new Patient First location.”
The current center at 8601 16th St. will close due to construction of the Purple Line. The center will remain open and treat patients until 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29; the new location will open at 8 a.m. the next day.
The company, headquartered in Richmond, Va. and founded in 1981, has 73 locations in the Mid-Atlantic region.
The care centers provide urgent and primary care from 8 a.m.-10 p.m. 365 days, including holidays. On-site services include x-rays, lab testing, prescriptions filled and occupational health services.
Patients can walk in at their convenience to receive treatment, and also can request, in advance, to see a particular physician.
In Maryland, the centers participate in more than 25 insurance plans for either primary care, urgent care, or both. The company also offers a self-pay program for patients who do not have health insurance.
