District Taco’s Blair Park Grand Opening Set for July 1

The grand opening of District Taco in the Blair Park Shopping Center on East-West Highway will be held at noon Monday, July 1, according to a press release.

A portion of the day’s profits will go to Level the Playing Field, a Silver Spring-based nonprofit that provides sports equipment to underprivileged youth in the area.

As part of the grand opening and to commemorate the company’s 14th outlet, the first 14 customers in line will receive a gift card for future purchases, the release said.

The first 100 customers in line will receive a District Taco goodie bag and a free meal.

“We are so excited to open another restaurant in the state of Maryland, close our gap regionally, and create more jobs and opportunities in the area,” said founder Osiris Hoil in the release. “Some of our biggest fans from [our food] cart days in Arlington are people who work in NOVA or D.C., but live in Montgomery County. We wouldn’t have been successful at the cart without them, so we’re excited to bring our delicious food right to their neighborhoods!”

As previously reported, the Silver Spring store will begin by operating from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. seven days a week. The hours will be adjusted, if needed, based on the market.

The new location will offer the same menu as other locations, featuring breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros, burritos, and a variety of other tacos, including a “build your own” option. Side dishes include corn chips, guacamole, queso, rice and beans (black or pinto beans) and garlic-lime rice. The company also offers catering services.

“Silver Spring is booming with new restaurants and shops opening every day,” Hoil said. “We are excited to be a part of this and hope that we will become a neighborhood favorite and an integral part of the community.”
