Golf Course Now Featuring Local Bands on Friday Nights

Sligo Creek Golf Course has begun featuring local bands playing on the patio in front of Sligo Pit Bar-B-Que on Fridays from 6-8 p.m.

The series began last Friday with The Loose Ends. Tonight (June 28), Trainwreck will be performing.

There are also outdoor games for kids and the full menu, including craft beers, is available from the pit.

Later this summer, the golf course will host two area favorites in larger outdoor concerts on the lawn.

Marcus Johnson will perform Saturday, July 13, with openers The Soul Truth with Billy Mayfield. Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the music will run from 4-8 p.m. Tickets are $35 in advance and $45 on the day of the show; children under 17 may enter at no charge.

The Nighthawks will be the featured band on Saturday, Sept. 21. Gates will open at 3 p.m. and the band will play from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 on the day of the show; again, children under 17 are free.

Each event will feature free wine and beer tastings from local vendors, along with outdoor games for all. Food, including vegetarian and gluten-free options, will be for sale at Sligo Pit. Attendees should plan to bring chairs or blankets.

Advance tickets for Marcus Johnson are on sale here. Nighthawks tickets are available here. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the nonprofit Sligo Creek Golf Association.

The course is located at 9701 Sligo Creek Parkway.
