Vape Lounge Owner Applies for Liquor License to Convert to Sports Bar

The owner of a vape and hookah lounge in Montgomery Hills has applied for a liquor license and indicated her intent to convert the space into a sports bar, according to documents filed with the county Board of License Commissioners.

Jennifer Garcia Martinez, listed as the sole owner of Action House Vape & Hookah LLC at 9433 Georgia Ave., has applied for a Class D license. If granted, beer, wine and liquor could be sold on premises only from 9 a.m. to 2 a.m. Monday through Sunday, and Friday and Saturday to 3 a.m.

According to the application, the space would be renamed Champions Sports Bar, offer cold deli sandwiches and chicken wings, and operate from 11 a.m.–1 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Martinez, a resident of Brentwood, Md., indicated on the application that there would be seating for 30, plus eight seats at a bar.

A hearing on the application is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7. It will be held in the Alcohol Beverage Services LRE Training Room at 201 Edison Park Dr. in Gaithersburg.
