Northwood High School will be closing its outdoor facilities to the public beginning Saturday, March 4, as a result of four separate incidents of hate speech and antisemitic remarks posted on the school’s athletic field.
Two incidents of hate and antisemitic vandalism at Northwood High School are being investigated by administrators and Montgomery County Police, including the “posting of professionally designed flyers containing horrific hate speech,” according to a letter posted by school principal Jonathan Garrick.
Montgomery County Police say they continue to investigate last Saturday’s incident involving the distribution of antisemitic fliers in the Forest Estates neighborhood of Silver Spring, and are coordinating with the Anti-Defamation League to identify suspects.
The County Council has issued a statement condemning recent antisemitic activities and acts of hatred against the Jewish community in Montgomery County.
