The Go Brent real estate brokerage has moved into the space at 914 Silver Spring Ave. formerly occupied by Innovative Business Interiors. The move is part of a trend that is seeing former street-facing retail space occupied by service businesses in downtown and elsewhere.

Shepherd’s Table Appoints Manuel Hidalgo as New Executive Director

Shepherd’s Table has appointed Manuel Hidalgo, an experienced executive in programs supporting socially and economically disadvantaged communities, as its new executive director, the organization announced. The core mission to combat hunger will remain, but Hidalgo also wants to look at options to ameliorate poverty.

The Transit Challenge: What I Learned

A number of local officials accepted a challenge from the Action Committee for Transit to spend the week of June 10-17 using only public transit, or active modes of transportation such as biking, walking or scooters, to travel around the county. The Source asked one of those participants, Councilmember Hans Riemer (D-At Large), who lives in Takoma Park, what he thought of the experience, and here is his report.
