County detectives with the Major Crimes Division are looking for the public’s help to solve a recent armed robbery of the Papa John’s restaurant at 1133 East-West Highway. The incident involving three suspects occurred at about 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31.
County Executive Marc Elrich will hold a virtual roundtable discussion next week on the recommendations contained in the Reimagining Public Safety Task Force Report released yesterday. Elrich appointed a group of 45 volunteer community members, 35 county representatives, and technical consultants last year. The task force was asked to address social and racial injustices in the county and to make recommendations about how to deliver services more equitably.
Montgomery County police are cautioning drivers in the wake of a recent increase in carjackings in the region. So far in January, there have been eight carjackings and one attempt.
County police are looking for help from the public to identify a suspect in a recent robbery at an ATM in the Hillandale area, according to a Twitter post.
A Silver Spring man has been arrested and charged with vehicle theft and second-degree burglary, the county police department announced. Daniel Tesfamihret, age 37, of Braddock Road in Silver Spring, was found driving a vehicle stolen in Connecticut that was reported to the county’s Emergency Communications Center by a vehicle locator service.
Officers with the county’s Holiday Alcohol Task Force arrested a hit-and-run driver Dec. 30 and charged him with several offenses, including possession of a loaded handgun. Humberto Guerra, age 26, of Bronzegate Place in Silver Spring was identified as the driver of a white Nissan Versa that hit an unoccupied, parked vehicle around Carroll Avenue and Osage Street in the Langley Park area.
Detectives are looking for a missing Silver Spring teenager and are asking for the public’s help to locate her. Maeva Domche, age 14, was last seen around 11:15 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 3, at her home on Mt. Pisgah Road.
Detectives from the county’s Major Crime Division is looking for information about three male suspects in a Dec. 22 carjacking in Silver Spring. The male victim was in his car about 9 p.m. ready to leave a parking lot near Red Lobster at 8533 Georgia Ave. when the suspects approached.
Detectives from the 3rd District Investigative Section have arrested and charged Ezekiel David Harris-Goff, age 18, in an armed robbery Dec. 1 in Ellsworth Place Mall. In addition, Harris-Goff, of an unconfirmed address, has been charged in an unrelated armed carjacking that took place Nov. 2 on 16th Street in Silver Spring.
