An 18-year-old Silver Spring man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting two women inside the LA Fitness in the 11400 block of Rockville Pike in Bethesda.

Metro Transit Police say that they have arrested 38-year-old Tiwan D. Sweet of Washington, D.C., in connection with an overnight sexual assault at the Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center in downtown Silver Spring.
DHHS, Shady Grove Hospital Begin Ad Campaign to Help Sexual Assault Victims
The county’s Department of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with Shady Grove Adventist Hospital’s Forensic Unit, has begun a Ride On bus and bike share kiosks ad campaign. The campaign is designed to tell residents of the services available for sexual assault victims, in particular, the sexual assault forensic exams provided by the hospital, which have decreased during the pandemic.
Volunteers Needed to Assist Sexual Assault, Other Victims
The county’s Department of Health and Human Services is looking for volunteers to help sexual assault, rape and domestic violence victims and their families through the department’s Victim Assistance and Sexual Assault Program.
